Greater Horseshoe Bats – Activity, foraging behaviour and habitat use

The Greater Horsehoe Bat, Rhinolophus ferrumequinnum, is one of the 14 species of bats resident in the UK. It is also one of the largest, together with the Noctule, Nyctalus noctula, and Serotine, Eptesicus serotinus. Greater Horseshoe Bats weigh between 16g and 30g, depending on the time of year, with a wingspan of 33cm to 40cm.
